People want to be healthy, but few have the courage to take all the necessary steps toward healing — to make the changes that illness is asking of us. To leave a job that doesn’t fulfill us, to walk away from a relationship that drags us down, to move somewhere new, and so on.
We’re used to staying where we are, clinging to what we know. But to be truly healthy, we must take the steps our illness calls for. Health and illness are two sides of the same coin — one always leads us to the other.
In my life, I’ve had to make many changes to heal. And I’m still making them. They completely transformed my life, and I can honestly say that the Rado people once knew no longer exists.
All thanks to illness. I’m grateful for it every single day. It taught — and still teaches — me to be a better, calmer, and more compassionate person.
Not only toward myself but also toward others.
About the Author of the Article
I am the author of the book How to Heal? My Journey of Healing from Depression Without Medication. And Not Only from That. It was accompanied by nonstop migraines, anxiety, panic attacks, and suicidal thoughts. The first time, I completely healed in 8 months, and about 10 years later, in 1 year and 3 months. It was a path of changes I had to make if I truly wanted to be healthy. I succeeded.
